Team Performance

The University of Washington promotes a culture of safety, where team members are empowered to speak up for patient safety regardless of their role within the organization.

Teams that communicate effectively reduce the potential for error, resulting in improved safety for both our patients and our staff.

What Makes us Unique

Since 2009, WISH has been a leader in interprofessional team training and simulation, and has gained an international reputation for excellence in TeamSTEPPS educational programming and delivery.

WISH has trained over 3,000 TeamSTEPPS Master Trainers from across the globe. The program’s unique interprofessional teaching structure and incorporation of hands-on learning continue to promote it as one of the leading TeamSTEPPS programs in the country.

I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to be a part of the TeamSTEPPS training courses. The tools taught have helped me in my everyday practice at work as well as at home. My unit has implemented many tools and it has helped tremendously with communication amongst team members as well as our top priority of patient safety. I highly recommend TeamSTEPPS training and implementation.
